There’s a word for a writer who never gives up

Once you enter the land of publishing, it’s not long before you find JA Konrath. He is motivating, inspiring, kick ass – and he’s been there. As well as being an author of a zillion books, he writes about the business of publishing. His blog is a hub for writers – with business info, tips, and debate. Some of my favourite posts of his are Konrath’s Resolutions for Writers. It’s basically a To Do list for newbie writers that he started in 2006, and has been adding to each year. He’s also great for a rev-up when you need one, and many of his quotes are ideal for locking in your writer brain:

“There’s a word for a writer who never gives up — published.”

“Write when you can. Finish what you start. Edit what you finish. Submit what you’ve edited. Repeat.”

“Don’t prioritize the mundane.”

“If you can quit, quit. If you can’t quit, stop complaining – this is what you chose.”

“Fate is a future you didn’t try hard enough to change.”
